Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
1. Technical issues ex. login, missing record, wrong badge info and etc..
Answer: Please submit (call or e-mail) your issue to†Help Desk. It might take a few days to respond to you, depending on the complexity of your issue.
KLTGA has suggested that TOURLIST Help Desk make a user-friendly & structured Form available as an alternate method to report technical issues.
2. Why it took so long to process my submission?
Answer: According to the MOTAC officer, they take an average of 7-14 working days to process your application. You may call your local state MOTAC office for more details. MOTAC State Office Contacts: https://motac.gov.my/hubungi/pejabat-negeri
MOTAC officer informed us that all renewal processing had been decentralized to MOTAC state offices. Please liaise with your nearest state MOTAC office for renewal matters. View Licensing Flow Chart
3. Why do i have to collect my badge at MOTAC office nearest to my old address?
Answer: You can now select your badge collection MOTAC office [Lokasi Kutipan Kad] found on Slide #3 TG Badge Renewal Manual. You may also create a request on [Tukar Lokasi] from the main menu found in Slide #2 TG Badge Renewal Manual.
4. Why can't I upload screenshots (.jpg/.jpeg/.png) documents in [Dokumen Sokongan] section?
Answer: All documents (except photos) uploaded to TOURLIST must be in .pdf format.
You may google "jpg to pdf" or "png to pdf" for a free PDF converter tool app online.
KLTGA has suggested including 1) Image file types for document upload; 2) File size hint at TOURLIST upload field. We also requested for the min-max file size upload details from the technical team. Will update here once it's available.
5. Why is my photo upload rejected by TOURLIST?
Answer: TOURLIST only can accept photos with a WHITE color background.
This color setting is to match the badge color (White). Therefore non-white background photos will be rejected by the system.
Alternate Solutions (suggested by Bernice):
1. Use a mobile phone selfie of the photo on a white color wall.
2. Use background remover to remove the background.
If the transparent background .png image is not accepted by TOURLIST. To convert the transparent background to white, manually rename .png to .jpg or Google for "PNG to JPG" FREE converter app for MAC users. If size matters, google for the "Image Resizer" FREE app.
6. Why can't I make payment at TOURLIST late at night?
Answer: There is a daily transaction settlement cutoff time arrangement†between the government, payment service provider & bank.
You can now make ONLINE payments via Credit/Debit Card, FPX (online transfer) 2am-9pm daily.
Alternatively, you can WALK-IN to MOTAC office to make payment with Wang Pos or Bank Draft (except cash).
KLTGA has suggested 24 hours payment option for the convenience of† TGs.
7. Do i still need to print e-CTRE cert & bring along the original CTRE cert to collect my badge(renewal)?
Answer: Yes, you have to print e-CTRE cert & bring along the original CTRE cert to collect your badge (renewal).
KLTGA has highlighted this "outdated" SOP to MOTAC officer, and they will look into it.
8. Do I have to surrender my expired badge as stated in Tourism Act 1992 even though my renewed badge is not ready?
Answer: For the convenience of TGs, you just need to return your expired badge at the same time you collect your new one.
